Mominoki Yarn Ramie Silk
Mominoki means “fir tree” in Japanese and Mominoki Yarn's hand dyed yarn is treated with the utmost care from when it arrives in raw bundles at the studio to hand-labelling each skein. Chihiro, born in Hokkaido, Japan, sources wool from Germany and Finland and lovingly dyes each colour in her Berlin studio.
RAMIE SILK is a noble, lightweight blend of virgin wool, silk and ramie that feels light and cool. It is very suitable for summer projects or as an alternative sock yarn. Ramie is a natural fibre from a Southeast Asian plant related to nettle. It was used as a fibre plant very early on and together with silk it gives the yarn a special shine.
